Is there anyway I can test an installation without an RCD so I can be sure when I changethe board the RCD will trip in time? Or calculation, such as V/R eg 230/Zs.????

Nine times out of ten trev!
When the RCD hasn't been installed?
An IR test is usually performed with the cables in question disconnected, please explain how a result of, for arguments sake, 100 Megohms between line and neutral will tell you if an RCD will trip in the event of a fault occuring on that circuit at an unspecified point in time in the future.

Firstly I would check if there is a flux capacitor fitted then if so work out if the next lightning storm will produce 10.4 gigawatts and then make sure the van will hit 80 mph in time! If you can do all that you can go back to 1980.

I think you will find it is 88mph....:sifone:

the metric system was devised by the frogs after the revolution where they chopped the heads off anyone with brains. they then decided to invent the metric system on the premise that a 6" willy seems small, whereas a 150mm willy appears huge.
