Re-Wire

I went to look at a house the other day that is in desperate need of a re-wire. For starters the board was old fuse wire! To cut a long story short the Customer had another electrician look at it. This so called electrician took one switch off in the whole house and declared it did not need a re-wire because there was an earth in the cable! He didn't even look at anything else or get a test meter out to prove that the earth was indeed connected!
It's a disgrace! Enough said

For Christs sake,its a fuse board Ill have you know,don't any of you realise the enormity of the danger

These boards can cause dermatitis and in severe cases,a persons arms and legs may fall off just by touching them
They should be removed with the utmost care,double bagged,then incinerated before they infect the whole population

Now Come On, Brand new tools and gadgets are ESSENTIAL to any work person, no excuses needed.
No new tools = no wife, it's in the regs somewhere, someone said so.

So a 3036 fuse board is a sign of a rewire needed - no way, there are millions of houses like that.

How much experience do you have, doesn't sound like much.

guys correct based on the age of the fuse board rewiring should always be recommended

Utter nonsense! If the installation tests out ok then it DOES NOT need to be rewired.
No wonder people have a poor opinion of (supposed) tradesmen when they get advice like that.
