Hi, I'm doing my 2391 soon and in the Fault Find section you have to write which section of the regs it doesn't comply with.

I have a list of potential faults, one of which is incorrect connection of a socket e.g. L in N and N in L terminal. I can't find it in Selection and Erection.

Anyone have the knowledge that I lack?

Cheers

Lee

Yeah that's what I thought but of course this isn't a testing problem. I need to know which reg it doesn't comply with. I am of course testing to prove that it complies with the reg when following 612.6 but... we aren't talking the actual test, we are talking installation

After your second post here on this, I think you may have to rethink your readiness on the 2391-10. Out of 3 posts 2 have defiantely told you it's polarity, and I'm not sure about the 3rd. The question as no relation to erection of an installation it is a polarity question.

Though if someone comes on here with a regulation from section 522 that covers a polarity question then I will be put right.

Also: Broken Bonding conductors. I know that a bonding conductor shouldn't be broken but can't find in the regs where it says that

Again are you talking about the test regarding continuity of bonding conductors. No your right no conductor in an electrical installation must be "broken", but I think your refering to continous, and there is no regulation that states a bonding conductor must be that

Also: When sheath of cables is carried into enclosure

Are you refering to T+E here, or sheath of a lead cable. or SWA or MICC your not being clear. I think you are refering to regulation 522.8.1

Again I really think you have to assess if your ready for the 2391-10

I'm not suggesting that it IS in Selection and Erection, just that I couldn't find it in there. I am talking from an install perspective. Is there anything in the regs that says you must put the Line conductor in the Line terminal (other than you'd be an idiot not to). In testing 'I' personally would be the one not complying with BS7671 if I didn't perform reg 612.6 but it doesn't suggest why the installation doesn't comply.

610.1 explains it perfectly. 'That the requirements of the Regulations have been met'. I'm looking for the 'requirements of the regulations that the Line Conductor is terminated into the Line Terminal. Not the fact that you should be testing for it.

With regard to being ready to take the 2391 exam. I am asking these questions in order to try and learn the required knowledge in time. I have some time to do this and am preparing myself. Any actual help is greatly appreciated.
