hi all
a couple of times now ive been asked by a customer to arrange to have the old off peak supply and controll gear removed (after all you pay a higher rate in the day if you have o/p supply).
both times when ive contacted edf energy for removal of the meter they are telling me and the customer that an electrical installation cert must be provided before they will remove the meter!!!!
has anyone else come accross this...?
if you need to remove an off peak supply and all its associated cabling ect what is there to write a cert for?
in this case the o/p cabling and fittings are all u/s and removed but they still ask for a installation cert.
WHY IS THIS.

Never heard of needing a cert for disconnection purposes only for connection.
Are they assuming a new meter will be installed by them and are dealing with it as a "new supply connection".

I have done many certs for new connections, even if the house had no circuits installed. I would make sure your bonding is done as had a few problems with bonding before.
