Recently carried out repairs after customer had E.I.C.R done no bonding in place so fitted also no RCD protection so fitted RCBO on Skts and upstairs lighting circuits
Do I now have to issue a new E.I.C.R or just a Test Results sheet and is it notifiable

It looks like I may become unpopular here if this is what some members think, I do apologise I have no intention of being difficult, but, look at the BS descriptions and various testing methods for each BS category and you will see there are significant differences between a RCBO and a MCB

I was referring to the circuit characteristics for disconnection times in relation to what constitutes a change. MCB's to BS 3871 or BS EN 60898 share the same characteristics as an RCBO to BS EN 61009

My question was of genuine interest on your take on the matter.
Questioning my competence just for asking is a bit below the belt TBH.
And you know absolutly sweet FA about my experience level , not that i judged yours.

biff55 I do apologise, I did initially think it was a dig at myself, I have also sent a PM to the admin of this forum to apologise for my unprofessional outburst.
To be perfectly clear my take on any works carried out that changes the characteristics of the circuit should be covered by a fully completed EIC. If this work was part of an unsatisfactory EICR then by providing the certificates for remedial works would satisfy any requirements, however, if you did not carry out the initial EICR you may be liable by duty of care to re test the installation and issue a satisfactory report.
I have no doubt in my abilities, and I really do sincerely regret bringing yours into disrepute, as I know nothing about you.
I humbly apologise.

Original EICR stays unchanged. EIC is required (as more than one circuit worked on.) stating exactly what work has been carried out, also a very good idea to make reference to the EICR serial number.

so what about the others then?...you refered to others on this forum as well...
My outburst is more to do with the fact that whilst I may be very experienced in the electrical field I am in fact a total novice in forums. I am or was due to retire, and only know how to use a PC because my children wanted me to keep in touch via the web.
I joined this forum because I need a hobby, when I started in this profession we has master craftsmen doing our first fixes, cables were laid in wooden cable management systems that would be impossible to replicate today, I also worked for the NICEIC as an area assessor for ten years but left when Part P came into force.

Well Glenn, personally I think he came out with a very sanctimonious statement regarding us "novices". This forum is for discussion and debate, and sometimes people either don't put themselves across very well, or are misunderstood.
You didn't behave "unprofessionally" habitual, you were simply rude about this forum, or at least members of it.

and why would it not be possible to replicate wooden cable covers if you wanted to? as long as they met the regs? Ever heard of a spindle moulder?

I think 'impossible' probably means expensive, although im fairly confident back then spindle moulders did not exist?

Anyway, as Marvo has pointed put, Mr Habitual has apologised for his outburst and has admitted that he is not familiar with the use of forums etc.

There are some black kettles and pots somewhere here i think.

OP,

As no one here can give you a conclusive answer, speak to your scheme provider.

Let us know how it goes.

These were not spindles, Wooden containment was constructed from flat 2 inch boards with routed groves that contained the paper wrapped cables, the conduit half round wooden lengths were used for the light switch drops. All containment made from wood was a truly awesome skill that has sadly been lost.
