Has anyone had any experience with these service counters? Been asked to have a look at it and try and diagnose the problem of why the lights wont stay on. When switched off and then back on again the lights come on for about a second and then I can hear a click in the relay and off goes the lights but the counter is still being chilled.

I checked the bulbs to see if they where overloading but they are only 30w x 2 and new starters in aswell. So came to the conclusion that the relay is faulty. I've no idea where to get a replacement from though. googled pastorfrigor uk but cant find a website. Any advice would be great.

Yeah does connect to a central temp monitor. Lights aren't controlled from there though.

If you can see the pic. one of the switches is for lights the other for refrigeration.

Feed comes in on a flex, up to the lefthand switch (master over lights and Fridge), down to the common block, over to power the controller, also up to the (R.H) light switch, across to the relay in the controller...

That did cross my mind telectrix but the fear of breaking something took over. I do quite a bit of work for the company so I said I'll have a look at it but they probably have to get someone else in to fix it.

Looking at the rating plate the light show as 240w, and you state 2x30w are there any other lights that are not obvious that maybe faulty causing the control circuit to shut down the lights.

Now that you have some donor refrigerators there borrow a relay and swop it, see if it works, if it does then job done, order new relay, if not then the client has not had to fork out for something that was not defective.

The controller unit is labelled as Glasgow Hillington, that's about 20 minutes on the Train from the City centre......the company will still be there, also if you PM me I can give you the website for an Electronics company there that repairs these kind of things, will get you a good repair price for it and they can DHL it back to you...

I will have a look at your picture again and look into that particular model...
