well i did ask before whether you were a fully qualified spark who simply doesnt have part p and you completely ignored the question. Your attitude is probably another factor in why people are hesitant to help

Nuff said

if youre not a qualified electrician or even a part-pee-er and youre doing electrical work for a bit of cash in hand, then cant you see how qualified electricians may be annoyed that not only are you taking work away from them, but you actually have the nerve to ask them to help you do it?

That wasn’t what I originally went on about, but, good point.

Indeed I have made an error where you asked if I was qualified. Now you have clarification. Again, I am not an idiot and I understand those that have took the time, effort and of course finance to attain Part P may get a tad upset at my request.

I could understand if I was encroaching on ones own work but in this instance, I am not. I get the distinct impression that people do not wish to help and rather than a heated debate, an simple "no we won't" would have been suffice.

The irony is that we all know part p is a money making scam anyway, something which your mate will have also paid for( the one who will sign it off), personally i dont see a problem here, qualified spark asking advice on pricing of a rewire, big deal if he hasnt got part p, the matey testing it has

Good luck with it, a lot of people are probs just wishing they had a rewire to price

Nice one Vernam616. At least your fighting my corner. Was beginning to think I was on my own and I'd really dropped a you know what.

Yeah, maybe a bit the Green eye going on here. We should all help each other out, not have a fissy hit because I don't have one thing. They can put their handbags away now and stop taking the Part P :)

At the end of the day its the house holders decision to choose whether they go for a part pee registered sparks who can do the job in normal working hours and probably £1000 more or a a qualified sparks thats in full time employment that can afford to do the job at a lower rate due to being paid in cash.

As long as you make this clear to the customer that the work is certified by another person whose insurance company wont be interested if something were to go wrong.

I sign off a good mate of mines work when he gets a rewire every now and then because i look at the jobs at different stages and his work is bang on!

pricing wise would do it by point, switch, light, socket etc

Thought it was Hissy Fit!

My only comment is that personally I wouldn't be coming onto any public forum promoting the fact you're doing things on the side cash in hand.
