Rewire

Hi - just looked at a job to rewire a 3 bed semi detached (Wimpey) house - I'd like to know what people are quoting as I gave what I thought was a reasonable price and they've gone for a much cheaper option which I don't think is possible. Thanks, Rich. :shocked3:

the customer was quoted £1400 and the guy has said he can get someone to certificate the job also reckons he can do it in 3 days
He can "get someone" to certificate it. He should be able to certificate it himself, it's the notification of the job that's the missing bit. That will come back and bite the customer if they need to sell the house and LABC haven't been informed.

Maybe you'll get the job to sort out the mess when it all goes pete tong.

ask the customer to ask the cheap guy to show proof of being part p compliant. tell him that the guy can't get some 3rd party to certificate his work unless he installs the job with him.

Yeah that someone is me, the polish spark, shower, cooker and sockets on one ring, 2.5mm twin and earth. Bang in a 63a MCB so it doesn't cause nuisance tripping. Sorted whats all the fuss about. Lighting? Just stick some new wires through ceiling and join to old cables
