re strip and reterminate each socket neutral, might have nicked the neutral when stripping the end off. I've had it several times. If you measure your r1r2 at each socket with them hanging off keep it reading constantly and wiggle the socket to pull the cables about a bit on the back, this can normally find the culprit as the readings will change up and down.

I've found half an ohm before just by wiggling the cr*p out of the socket!
 
Hope your charging by the hour I think the magic pen would be out for that type of reading, I know its above what it says in regs but the question you have to ask IS IT SAFE
 
Why would there be a load on when carrying out r1, r2 & rn as these tests require the circuit to be isolated.
i think that he means that there is another socket or spur with a piece of equipement still plugged in somewere and the metere is picking up the higher reading,, i think ,,lol:D
