Running tails through loft space

Hi just installed new tails and moved consumer unit, cables are about 7 metres long they run inside a cavity from meter and i have then clipped on top of loft joists , on one bit though there is a heating pipe so i have gone under and clipped to side of joist.... i realise cables have to be 50 mm deep when drilling through joists does this also apply when clipping to side?

Full time job say maintenance electrician, guess mean industrial

Im part p also, just checking , so 80 amp switchfuse in meter box , then cables running up cavity 50 mm deep and on top of joists

And darkwood im not going to replace or touch anything in meter box just add the switch fuse

Yeah , ive done nvq , test and inspec , 17th and am2 just not done much house bashing, mainly industrial and commercial

why not use a lucy glandplate then you can use an offcut of swa from work instead of tails, will save you some money

Some DNO's get funny about you installing your own equipment within the meter cabinet/box but on the other hand they don't want you relying on their fuse for OCP for your distribution circuit..I would install a switch fuse within the cabinet/box with no qualms.

Any cavity wall insulation?

No none, just checked regs even if gets covered by insulation only de rates cables to 80 amps, and they will be going on 80 amp fuse anyway
