Anyone used the new range of DB and Breakers? Look really smart and the DBs seem to have a bit extra space. Impressed from what I have seen.

Schneider/Merlin is a fortune these days we got 3 16a rcbos recently and they were touching ÂŁ200!! Just ridiculous. The most common make we come across is dorman smith which IMHO is decent kit and easy to work with. The 3ph boards are good

RCBOs are around 35 + vat. Not a bad price really and to this day Iv not had a bad one we use Schneider on all installs but we don't do domestic, a company we do work for specs Hagar and I think they are a good quality board as well. I tend to stay away from all others.. Guess in just set in my ways now!

Depends what type of install you're doing. If it's the odd domestic DB then Schneider is a silly brand to use, if it's heavy commercial or industrial then I'd say it's one of the only brands (now that Merlin has been rebranded Schneider) worth using!
Too true, either Merlin or MEM, Nothing else out there IMO worth installing at industrial level.

I think you'd not be saying that, if you had worked on the last 3 or 4 projects that i've worked on!! lol!! But then we are talking in the thousands being used for each of those projects and that would cover all RCD devices not just RCBO's.

Totally agree, for me it is the only one i use in the industrial world. Quality brand and built to last.

should change suppliers then pal you should be paying about ÂŁ45 for a merlin rcbo

have not used hager for years, but i did like the glass front covers, as long as the labelling was neat, as you could see what had tripped without opening the cover, lazy i know. :snore::snore:

We tend to use ABB for control applications. Siemens and Moeller get used too.

Mainly MG/Schneider or occasionally Eaton for distribution.

:D

ABB and Siemens do a complete range of LV/MV distribution gear suitable for industrial/commercial installations, ABB probably have comparable ranges to MG too. I've come across a couple of ABB MV switchboards though, that to say i wasn't impressed would be an understatement, darn right bloody dangerous would be closer to the truth!! lol!!

All of these brands are at the premium end of the spectrum, and as such at the top end of the price range. I prefer MG/Schneider mainly because i know what i'm buying/specifying, especially when it comes to switchboards and MDB's etc. And the fact i suppose, that apart from small power RCD devices, i know the equipment to be robust and reliable with an excellent aftercare service...

Still double the price of Hager and similar manufacturers...they are just pulling our pants down...

Soon adds up when you have a DB full of RCBOs too...
agree pal but sometimes you do get what you pay for, and as long as the customer is aware it shouldn't be a problem
