Screw fix

While waiting In screw fix yesterday I overheard a guy asking the server (which I must add was a young girl) what was the difference between 16 mm2 and 25mm2 tails, obviously she didn't have a scooby so she asked the manager, his answer was if it's a shop 25mm2 if it's a house 16mm2, my question is why did I bother doing 4yrs at college when all I need to do is ask a retail manager for technical support ????????

Obviously the correct answer would be 9mm!

But seriously, did you correct them about their error? Or did you just stand there and say nothing?

Whats more worrying is the guy buying them not knowing what he is about to install. I buy in screwfix and I don't expect them to know anything technical. I know what I want.

He's got that massively wrong it's 16mm for a shop and 25mm for a factory. 10mm t&e will suffice for an average dwelling! Jeez

I had the same thing last week in the wholesaler's. A woman came in to buy a ballast for a light fitting, I could hear asking the sales lad if it was an hard job to replace them, to which the lad replied no and proceeded to draw her a little wiring diagram of how to do it.
I couldn't believe what i had seen, but my faith was quickly restored when the manager twigged what was happening, waited for the lady to leave and then royally ripped the counter lad to pieces for doing such a stupid thing.
The lad went bright red and looked like he was hoping the ground would swallow him up.

Yes Dave I did, as that's how people get killed but my point is its wrong that he can buy something that only a skilled person can fit:-/

No no no, they are already there for you, you just connect whatever was feeding the previous board into the new one
