If you want the real answer, they show that price because they are out of stock and it's easier to up the price than remove the item only to put it back on when in stock.
It's a common ebay practice.

If they do sell at that that price there's enough money in the sale for the seller to take a taxi ride to somewhere the item is in stock buy it and post it on.

Suppose so, because ebay take a % for listing fees. Seems possible.

Yeah, I also heard it's to avoid ending/relisting fees.
