Discuss separation of main power and safety circuit. I've been told off! in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

I believe I only need to show due care and attention.

Two sets of regs for one basic motor control panel is enough thank you very much net ;-)

BS 7671 has nothing to do with the control panel ... check the listing within the BS 60204 for specific regs to different machinery... also there are several other BS standards we haven't even touched on you need to comply with.... as i said earlier its a mine field of regulations and standards to comply to and that's after risk assessment has been done .... you will find paraphrasing of BS7671 standards within the 60204-1 but its to be expected as it derives from the same basic rules.... when you have perused the BS 60204 ill post many other BS standards you should be aware of .....

This is why i had my original concerns it can take a decade to be fully competent to start to assess existing systems and design new to comply to the many many BS standards .... im still learning them after 25yrs so you can understand why i pulled you on it as your still getting experience points with the BS 7671.

Instead of trying to score points how about helping. The basic question could have been sorted in a couple of posts. Sorry but I don’t have the time to spend here now.

I don’t agree with our OP’s original solution but a there’s a reasonable and practical way around it.

What the hell people climbing on equipment has to do with the OP I don’t know.
