Anyone got any advice re preventing cracked hands (other than man up or wear gloves!) I have been trying OKeefes Cream but this morning they are so bad I can hardly hold a cup!?

I tried Snowhead on a recommendation from last years cracked hand thread and it helped a lot - one must have a moisturising regime and daily overnight for the whole season. Mine crack at the knuckles and sides so I emery cloth (sand paper) them down until the skin is soft - repairs easier and quicker. My tuppence!

I use Diprobase and hydrocortisone cream at night (both available over the counter at a Pharmacy). Neutrogena Norwegian formula red top during the day as it's a bit less oily. Works well for me, as long as I remember to do it each day...

Probably fine to maintain skin that hasn't become too dry, some people don't seem to have any trouble with their hands at all while others suffer every winter,it's blockwork [chasing out] and plasterboard that seems to affect me worst - cold too.

These skin issues are usually a sign of other underlying issues or a reaction to something you are using or in contact with, I am a life long sufferer of eczema and dermatitis and it took yrs to learn to manage but diet, beer intake, water intake etc all play a part and can lead to a trigger of it, creams etc presciption or over the counter are more to manage it not to stop it, I would see your GP tbh and don't expect a quick fix, it can take many yrs to find the root cause and sometimes it is genetic in nature although life choices can often help manage it.
