Anyone got any advice re preventing cracked hands (other than man up or wear gloves!) I have been trying OKeefes Cream but this morning they are so bad I can hardly hold a cup!?

I've worked many winter seasons in the Alps and my hands fall apart there (UK I'm fine apart from cement) and I used Neutrogena Norwegian for daytime use, Body Shop Hemp hand cream WITH light cotton gloves overnight. Also wear any gloves when you can when working. I like 'grip' type gloves as the PVC/whatever keeps moisture in a bit but are not as sweaty as nitrile/rubber gloves - but essentially any glove with a soft lining but with a moisture trapping outer.

These skin issues are usually a sign of other underlying issues or a reaction to something you are using or in contact with, I am a life long sufferer of eczema and dermatitis and it took yrs to learn to manage but diet, beer intake, water intake etc all play a part and can lead to a trigger of it, creams etc presciption or over the counter are more to manage it not to stop it, I would see your GP tbh and don't expect a quick fix, it can take many yrs to find the root cause and sometimes it is genetic in nature although life choices can often help manage it.

I told him that ages ago, but he won't listen. Typical bloke wot go to their doctors
