find it funny a simple question goes on to be a joke.. I CAN use either of those mcb's.. I know, i just asked what was best to use.

yet sarcasm seems to be the best you get.. I've got family & friends who are electricians, I'm not short of that, but y'know an electrical site for electrical related info, questions and general matter you get the complete opposite.. hahah its a community of jokes.

I was actually brought and shown this site by one of my tutors when in college for any info!

Why don't you ask one of them then what they think of 6mm on a 63amp mcb!

to be fair I never thought of looking back through my stuff, it was just a pretty basic question that could have had a basic answer as it is only basic work! but yet everyone seems to make it a big deal yet when they don't know the situation..

In everyone else's shoes I'd be the same but I'd never degrade anybody for trying or asking a question.. its the lowest of low!

Before you even start this job. Have you any equipment to test the new installation. Have you done a pre testing & inspecting before you even start to install anything to ensure the existing installation is save to add to ?

yeah I've got a multi meter but have access to a MEGGER so thats not a prob, the house CU is brand new installed last year, it has 2 spare slots on rcd 1 and 3 slots on rcd 2 and ive done all my testing and inspection :)

Ryan, with 2330 (was it even still available in 2012?) you'd be rusty but you'd still know how to get the information you need to work this stuff out.
Anyway, I've PM'd a mod about this. If you're lucky it'll be shoved in DIY where it belongs. At best
I am sure when they have finished laughing they will deal with it lol

What earthing arrangement is it? what is the ZE? what ka rating are the MCBs?

He is just googling it now for you.
I'm not playing into anyone's hands on here read it again mate, I've done my test and inspection in college, I don't need to test anyone else work but mine! I asked what's the recommended mcb to use not what I own or what I have knowledge of! Once I've installed the entire thing I'll run my dead tests then do a live test, I haven't asked anyone how to do tests! Getting right off topic.

If you don't know what size mcb to use, there's a good chance you don't know what its for in the first place.

I still call BS on this thread though. And not the 7671 sort of BS.
