Guys

does this sound ok
asked by customer of new build house to run a supply to shed found amoured cable already run in by pervious contractors
supplying a 2 way board 16amp radial 3 sockets and 2 light fittings 6 amp both on rcbos so does not trip out dual board in house. Amoured is of 4mm but found sort at board so need to extend run is about 15 metres. 32amp m cb at board

Is the supply from the house CU via the rcd's if it is a fault on the shed CU could still take the house RCD, I would use 20a OCPD as opposed to 32a, how many cores to the swa?, do you need a spike?

If I were you I would reconfigre the c.u. ( take the wire armour feed off the RCD and feed from the isolator only) , this will prevent nusience tripping.and use a clear joint to extend the SWA

Sorry for being dump what do you min by clear joint also if there were a fault in the shed wouldnt the rcbos trip and not the main house

your swa doesnt need rcd protection so put it on a 20amp mcb and use the rcbo protection you already have in place in the shed for the circuits.

you could also extend the swa via an adaptable box ;)

Sorry being dump again board in house is dual rcd are you saying get a small board with 20 amp mcb next to it or just come off of the supply into the rcd on the split load board

:eek::eek::eek:

Stick a 32A MCB on SWA from reconfigured Main Board. This will ensure discrimination, and within cable limit.;)

Use proper jointing kit to extend cable. :)

15 metres short from board thats correct.

if i connect swa into dual board and have board at other end with main switch with rcbos on each of the circuits would it also trip the main dual board if there was a fault as well
