I am a trainee plus it won't let me post a new thread anywhere but here via tapatalk

We just finished 4 days of testing at a big well known tile and bathroom company, today I was doing the remedial work, downstairs was in 5/6 sections and 2 failed when tested because no earth continuity, they either wrapped the earth back around the grey pvc (no sheathing) or like the picture just didn't connect it, this was on all lights on the sections that didn't work, or like the picture I found 4 lights wired like this....they did work fine though haha.....I'm guessing I'll find this many many many more times in the future?

I just trimmed them back and married them up and secured them in a choc box

but did you enclose the choc block?

Re: Should I be surprised

As Tel says that is or should be criminal.

The thing that gets me is that doesn't look like a DIY'er, the connections are too neat and the CPC is sleeved. It looks like it was done by someone who should have known better and should have been held accountable.

PS

I'm not sure why you're having problems posting, I've just checked your permissions settings and everything's fine. Maybe it's a tapatalk issue, I'm not sure TBH.

Hope you put that termination in an enclosure.

Going by your description and the photo of what I can see outside..... Is it Morley by any chance? Not my work btw, I just know what type of sparkys they would employ.

Yeah damn right I did,, I have 3 boxes or a approx 50 choc boxes per box use.....spent all day and only got through half the bottom floor.....yes Paul you are correct...if u know it u will know the size

All day connecting the earth together....All they did was wrap then around the grey pvc

So I sheathed them and connected them and put all in choc blocks, with a screw to keep it shut
I'm there all week fixing what the others did previously.....they had some sparks from a neighboring country in and we think it could of been them....I won't say where...don't want to be banned for being racist or something stupid like that

I tried putting this in the electrical section but I have no button to start a thread...it only shows I'm the trainee section, I posted it and it didn't show so did it again......apparently it did it twice....Sorry

Edit

My compose button now shows in other sections :D
