Hi guy,

In coming sep classes are starting for C&G 2330. So before getting admission I would like to ask you coz its better to ask someone before making any decision. should i study this course? I mean will it benefit me in my future. will i get a job somewhere? I am thinking if i don`t get job in UK so at least in other country like middle east, Canada or Australia. I ll be 30 in coming July.
what do u think???

thxx.

Haha!!! You sure you know what your talking about?? I can disagree with anyone i want too, the same as you and everyone else here can. The difference being, those that can't go any further in a disagreement, without resorting to getting childishly personal.

My argument with you is certainly NOT ludicrous... Mates and Labourers are two completely different animals, one is trying to gain experience, the other is there soley to undertake menial work. Seeing as you clearly only want someone to do the menial work, you would have no need, or interest in an electricians mate!! Your certainly not going to teach them much...

As far as i'm aware, Domestic is about all they learn at collage these days, ...but regardless, i doubt very much if you could teach anyone anything in 10 minutes. Now just because you don't consider qualifications as being important to an electrician, other more sensible people DO!! Probably because you don't have too many yourself, being a Electrical Trainee.

I'm a lot of things, but i can assure you, i'm no idiot nor am i anybodies fool!! As for being Trivial, ...well that depends, what's trivial to you, isn't always trivial to others...

Anyway, i really can't be arsed continuing this with you.., your only going to upset yourself further, and for what??

There we go again the Electrical Trainee accusation. Now of course we both know its not the case but I know its one of your old favourites. That you are now calling me childish I find fairly ironic.
With regards to what they do at college these days......well I did the 2330 5 years ago so am possibly a better authority on it than you. Unless of course you yourself have done it recently.

To suggest that a guy who does electrical work, as his job, with an electrician but not an electrician himself could not be described as an electricians mate is precisely what I would refer to as ludicrous.

I didn't call you an idiot. With posts like the above one, there is absolutely no need.

brother dave 85 and engn 54, i didnt submit this question for you both to argue with eachother like children. could you guys please kindly tell me what will be the next step after 2330 L3?

It depends really but the 17th edition course is a must have and the 2391 (or equivalent) is probably worth getting aswell. NVQ3 is a work based qualification so you need to be working as a spark doing domestic commercial and industrial (I think) to get it.

Thank you dave nd thomas. Its look like i m getting to the point now, but just need to know some more things. I would like to know how long NvqL3 takes? And would i be studying this in college or its just getting an experience as an electrician? And the same question for 17th edition plz.
I m asking this coz i dont want to spend thousands of pounds and 2,3 years more after spending 2 yrs on 2330.

I did the C&G 2330 L2 and L3 over four years in college. Does this now mean I should call myself a electricians mate? Not a electrician?

If you have the qualification (C&G 2330 L2-3) but have no electrical work experience, would you call yourself an electrician?? This is the argument, get the qualifications and then the experience, (even more preferably at the same time) but not by being employed as a labourer, you'll learn sod all and gain even less experience.

If u cant answer my question so **** off from here. U useless eng.

Wasn't replying to YOU!! But it will in all likelihood, be very relevant to You

As for your question, ....It's been answered several times over!! There is also various threads on this very same subject!!! So go and do some research off your own back...

Now, have ever considered becoming a plumber??

Gktssm,

If you're serious about becoming an Electrician, training wise, you've got 2 options:
1: go to FE college and learn the long way
2: shell out ÂŁ1000s on these short courses which promise a guaranteed income of ÂŁ54000 a year.

One will grant you considerably more respect than other!
I don't really care either way.

and...

if all the bull & urine taking you're seeing in this thread winds you up, you're thinking about the wrong career. Get a job in a politically correct office somewhere!

edit...

Good luck with which ever path you choose in the end. :)
