Right chaps,

Due to a few unavoidable issues, we have lost the original thread and pics etc.

Sorry about that!!!

So, if you want to re-upload your pics then great, if not, give us something new!

Cheers!!

I have an installation that my local council state is safe, I can fit 2 fingers all the way in on both sides fully and place 9 fingers all into the consumer unit down to my knuckles, is it not the rule anything bigger than a pen does meet regulations? what makes this worse is my 2 year old nephew has direct access to the consumer unit because of a broken door!

Get on to them asap, explain the situation and stress the point about your nephew. They should send someone round licketysplit

Thanks trev1 they sent someone round covered up main holes to the bottom,
however there is still a hole along the top Im not totally happy but catch is on the door now so at least the cupboard door shuts, they say they are in talks with the manufacturer and will inform me of the outcome, everyone on the estate is in similar circumstances though, you just have to hope no one is seriously injured over this, I have informed a local councillor who is taking the matter further, thx

can't fault that work looks spot on.
Sorry Mike99 are you talking about hands in the consumer unit?
if so how is the work spot on? Surely if every flat on this estate has similar CU then someone should have been asking the same question I have, how and who has been passing these electrical installations, If the council are already in talks with the manufacturers it is already a matter they are concerned with and something they need to put right.

This is the first recessed type board that i'v done.

These are pictures of a rewire we did for a client, we communicated only by email as he was living in nottinghamshire and the property was in huddersfield. He wanted to be able to isolate all the kitchen appliances from 1 point in the kitchen and the angled socket was fixed there as the window was pretty much the full length of the back wall.
