shower and lights tripping

can any one help please, i'm very new to testing. got called to a house were they had a shower upgraded from a 7.5kw to an 8.5 but didn't upgrade the mcb. the shower is tripping also the light's are blowing, up to 4 in a day. I aim to go and put a 40amp mcb on but are these problems connected. oh and the shower cable is 10mm.

What mcb is protecting it anyway

is the shower circuit rcd protected,you may be new to testing but you must know the essential tests to undertake if your a qualified electrician,welcome to the forum.

its an old type 2 bs3871 maybe,any rcd protection to bring it up to 17th edition.

If you go to the main forum page then find the general area you need ie testing etc then select start new thread and away you go.
