can any one help please, i'm very new to testing. got called to a house were they had a shower upgraded from a 7.5kw to an 8.5 but didn't upgrade the mcb. the shower is tripping also the light's are blowing, up to 4 in a day. I aim to go and put a 40amp mcb on but are these problems connected. oh and the shower cable is 10mm.

cant remember the bs number, 4 weeks and about 2 to 3k, intensive course. i recomend it, but i'm aware i can only take on small jobs and still have years of learning ahead, dont call myself a sparky but a practising sparky.

That is a lot of money, you must have city and guilds? with the 17th edition, blimey id want a golden certificate for that price,i think its commendable that you done that out of your own pocket, and good luck to you in your career, your going to see all sorts, there is nothing in a workshop that represents an old 60s wired house that has been added too and added too for the last 50 years lol,its going to be a steep learning curve, what was your background before electrics.

I really don't think this is needed or called for
A member is asking for help ad many people are aiding him
I don't see why these coments are helping
Everyones got to start somewhere!!!!

fair enough but would you be happy if study hard for 4 years for someone who done 4 weeks and knows **** ?

and every job you phone theres ten men who will work for free for experiance just coz they got a 20k redunduncy and dont need the money ?

good on you, instead of spending your 3k on a holiday and then getting the taxpayer to pay for you and the family, you done this off your own back so good luck too you.

I've worked with many lads that did 4 years at college got there 2391 etc but as soon as were faced in site they knew jack ****!
I think it takes some balls to spend all that money out of your own pocket
Like he said he know he starts learning now now out on site!
Times are bad yeah but are for other too!
