Hi guys and girls.

Just a quick one, im sure its dead simple but for the life of me i cant work this one out.

I recently got a clap sensor like this Clap Activated Switch Kit | Maplin
I have had it all built up and now its come down to powering it up.
I have a 12v feed going into the bottom of it which works fine, lights come on ect.
I have another 15V feed going into the top part. I have the positive wire going into the COM slot. the negative going onto the negative wire of the LEDs i am running threw it and the positive LED wire going into the NC slot, I know that the power supply is sufficient because without the switch it the LEDS work fine. Now the weird part. I can manage to get the lights to turn on for a split second but then they go straight back off again, anyone got any experience with these switches? :bomb:

This item does not support mains powered lights, please do not install this to your household lights.

Above is a Maplins response to somebody's question. Below is how you can get around it:

The kits aren’t designed for switching direct mains voltage I’m afraid. You could use a separate relay to use the kit for this purpose though. RW

I get the impression you are simply trying to use this as a switching device to switch standard 240V circuitry. Send some photos of how you have connected things up.

From the board it looks like switch 2 (SW2) has the option of pulse or toggle it maybe that you are on pulse instead of toggle.

I would normally have expected (but do not know how this circuit is constructed) that the normally closed (NC) contact would be on until the unit was operated and the normally open (NO) contact would be off until activated.

I would have 15V positive supply to COM and positive lead to LED lights to NO.
