Does anyone know of a UK plug socket extender/extension lead which protrudes minimally from the wall so that furniture can be pushed back against it? There's several options for Euro/USA markets but I can't find anything for the UK. Thanks in advance, Jim.

There's a big difference between UK and most other country's plugs. UK plugs have the lead coming out at right angles to the pins and most others have the lead in line with the pins, so plenty of scope for flattening the foreign ones, but not so much for the UK ones.
I can think of one from a few years back (Ever Ready?) that projected noticeably less than its compatriots, but the overall saving would only be a couple of mm.
The projection of a UK plug is governed by the diameter of the fuse and the layers of insulation covering it, so there isn't a lot of scope for much saving.
An alternative to a plug and socket would be a switched, fused connection unit (FCU) to hard wire whatever you are connecting.
