Had some good fines over the years....letters from a Navy private to his sister date 1943, found in roof of an old Butlins camp........knocked down a wall, to fined air raid shelter, complete with wooden air purifier, full instructions on wall and ww2 gas masks.

I've been wearing a full proper respirator in a loft recently - used to be the blokes growing room and it's almost ankle deep still in (now dried) leaves!!!

Not quite under the floor boards......but used to find it weird going into old disused Underground stations. Walking down the platforms, with Cadbury`s chocolate machines, weighing machines, and posters stating "During the blitz drink Bovrel" other posters advertising Horlicks.

i once saw a guy scraping off all.the the laugh plaster between the slats... dont think he realised that was holding the ceiling together.. 10 minutes later the biggest boom ever.. no more ceiling... funniest thing iv ever seen good job no one was below could have been a different story

Did you ever get down the old tube tunnels near Bank?
We went up a few times off the end of Borough tube platform, under the river, via some big doors and into King William St Station.
It was used as one of the war air raid shelters, complete with urinals etc. We got some old posters of the walls, sadly rotted away now. Walls have Ears!
On the way out we ended up over the platforms of London Bridge tube, yes, one of us pees down on the punters on the platform! :smilielol5:

Thought all lines were still used at Bank. Was surveying St Pancras for new Chunnel, 8 years back wherethey blocked off the old platforms with timber frames and curved hardboard, finished in statin black. All to stop you seeing the station when you passed on the tube.....We had to sign a contract, not to touch or move or steal any item, as all was being taken to transport museum.

Like the others smoke packets, used prophylactics, used sanitary towels, old newspapers I even found some dog do do under a bed once
