Thought all lines were still used at Bank. Was surveying St Pancras for new Chunnel, 8 years back wherethey blocked off the old platforms with timber frames and curved hardboard, finished in statin black. All to stop you seeing the station when you passed on the tube.....We had to sign a contract, not to touch or move or steal any item, as all was being taken to transport museum.

This was back in the 80s, way before they extended the Juby through Borough, my local stop.
I've got the 'You Are Here' sign from the entrance of Borough Tube and a big enamal from trackside down on the platform. Best card table ever! :)

DeWalt bendy neck torch that the plumber left a month before. Cost to much to buy a new battery and charger for it, gave it to another spark who had the same DeWalt tools in exchange for a breakfast buttie!

Years ago a mate asked me to help him rewire a large house in Pultney Street in Bath, a posh area, anyway being a skinny bloke in those days up into the loft I went, found a large box full of leather bound books, a complete set of Dickens novels, the developer had told us any thing you find you ca keep, got ÂŁ240:00 at an antique shop probably worth a lot more but in 1969 it was a lot of dosh, hope this story doesn't upset your breakfast Tazz lol

Not worth much but found a Napoleon the III 3 frank coin dated 1757 it had fallen down a crack in a floor board next to the marble hearth of a very nice Georgian house which was built in 1730 the owner's Great Great Great Grandfather was in the Army as a high ranking officer in the American war of independence so it was possibly his.
Owner didn't want it so I kept it
The only other unusual item was a slightly damaged leopard skin the bloke chucked it in the skip, I got it out!

I've been wearing a full proper respirator in a loft recently - used to be the blokes growing room and it's almost ankle deep still in (now dried) leaves!!!

I was at a house that needed work after being rented and used for this until a visit from the authorities. In the loft they had decided it would be easier to dispose of old soil/foliage in the void to the eaves. The labourer that had to clear it said that he had to agree with their thinking!!

Remember my old dad saying he lost his cutters when rewiring my old aunties house in 1964, after my old man passed away my auntie at 98 asked if I could rewire and sort her house out, before she sold it. So in 1998 i rewired the house. On lifting the the floor boards in the small front bedroom, I found his cutters, still insulated with red tape...without being soppy, I still have them, no use but just a little bit of history..

When we were clearing out my mother's house after she died I found a load of my dad's tools, none of them anywhere near professional quality but that's not the point is it?
My brothers and I divvied them up.

When we moved into our house in Brum, my brother who was doing some wiring found tickets to various snooker halls around the country. The house once belonged to Hurricane Higgins' cousin...... he also found free entry passes to the Spearmint Rhino club in Brum.

Rumour has it that you found Geordie under the floorboards. Or is it that you're planning to put him there?
