I have read on your site regarding socket covers and i have to disagree with whats been said , that you feel there is no reason to ban them , in this country the sockets used are as you know shuttered , when you insert these coveres it opens the shutters , because of the design of them they are difficut to remove and when they do they tend to bend putting strain on the pin inserted to the earth terminal , i have today had to replace a socket due to one of these terminals being broken off in the earth terminal , this therefor left the shutters open exposing the conductors , i n my eyes for this reason they should be banned from use befor a child is electricuted if they incert something into the terminals , i know its a very remote chance , but its exactly the same as being incerted into the shuttered pins of a socket

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.
I was not aware that ESC website stated ‘is no reason to ban them’. I was under the impression that the ESC do not promote the use of them.
However, I have copied Mr. Allen an employee senior to me in on this email. This is because the statement on the ESC website is our current policy and as you supported by evidence disagree with that policy, the policy may require a review.
