Soffit lights, only problem is soffit is concrete

I have seen AIB used as a soffit board it’s definitely not that but to be honest it could be an ACM from the ground it certainly looks like concrete because it looks like a concrete paving slab (2 inches thick)there are lots of houses round my way with a very similar looking slab type thing

So this is the house in question seems like concrete to me, mind I’m getting it checked anyway just to be sure but have a look...

I thought I was going mad thinking it was concrete with all the replies I’m still going to get it tested before I go all gung ho with the SDS I like both of those fittings but as there is no overhang I think I might need something a little more low profile... have you ever installed downlights on something similar?

I’ve grew up round here and never thought about it till now but it definitely looks like concrete might have been old finlock type gutters the council just chopped and left

Some of the building methods up here from back in the day were crazy ever tried running a cable in a semi-supporting wall

It could well be a prefab as a lot of the houses round this way were built to blend in with the older ones except our lot they stand out like sore thumbs but in a good way

I might have misunderstood, but the soffit board is usually light weight, I assume that's because it's overhanging. A 50mm thick concrete slab 30cm wide (say) would weigh a ton by the time you went round the house, surely?
