Hi All, I am about to install a solar system with a Fronius IG 15 inverter, all the systems I have done before have had MC4 plugs on, so Voc and Isc testing is quite straight forward, but this inverter is hard wired into a terminal block inside the inverter! How do I link the cables for the Isc test, and do I do the Voc in the isolater, while its connected into the terminals????? any help would be gratefully recieved, many thanks!

Turn the DC isolator off, put a link in between the positive and negative and clamp around it to get your Isc. Do your Voc at the isolator also.

Thanks guys, I was thinking about a link, so thanks for the confirmation. I also thought about the MC4 connectors, always good to have a second opinion, or a third, in this case! thanks again!

Just a quick survey, in the beginning we used to test every single panel, and used to have a 'production line' type process from unpacking testing, installing, having installed so much now and not yet had an individual panel fault we are reviewing this process, so we'd like to find out just what everybody is doing (and so probably would you).

If you guys would complete this 3 question onlione survey I'll share the result back here for all to see - thanks

p.s. it's completely anonymous :)

3 responses so far , thanks, when there's a dozen, it'll start to become more meaningful, and I'll post all the results
