relatively new prepack ltd company, presumably a marketing front company as they're not REAL members.

Do I need to add them to my list?

Should tradings standards be paying them a visit?

He come to me via a recommendation - signed the paperwork with SW in Jan and now wants out. The system hasn't been fitted yet.

Firstly i don't know this firm - secondly i may have the wrong end of the stick - but i don't think so.

This is the story: Had a call from a bloke who is a friend of a customer of mine we fitted a solar system for a year ago - he tells me he had a quote and my prices seem a lot cheaper, can you come and talk to me; sure no problem i can come around - so i get there the on Friday, this house isnt in the best area, walk in the house is upside down (trying my best to diplomatic here) but it appears they dont have much funds/on a low income.

The guy sits me down and whips out this yellow paper - its a contract from "RoLEC Solarworld" based in Wakefield - starting off @ 12500 for 4kwp, next guy come and says we cant get 4kwp on, so £9500 for 3.5kwp, this house has a hip roof, part SW part SE, might get 3kwp on if he lucky. Anyway this firm as Gavin mentioned is another sales front, not MCS, not REAL, and im about sick to death of these "bar stewards" getting away with it, the contract has so many things wrong with it i cant list them all.

Now the best bit, this couple have no funds, no savings and look in ill health, they talked them into doing an equity release to pay for the solar system, and part of the conditions where to consolidate the existing debts. Ive seen the debts because he showed me everything, they owe £732 on there mortgage! "is that all" i said. and £6600 on a bank loan for the kids. After the equity release which is costing £4k i believe they end up with a total debt of £18k on the house, just when they almost paid it off.

Now who is the idiot here? me for not selling him a system and sorting out some sort of funds? or them for stitching him up with an expensive system that they cant fund. I couldnt believe it, i said what about paying for care in the future etc? i said to him you need "rent a roof" solar "but i doubt they would take his home on" sadly.

Frigging madness - these pricks are screwing it up - why hasn't this loophole been closed? i thought they trying? anyone know?
