I have a combi boiler. So when no ones around I'm exporting nearly everything. But at least my meter is static and my neighbors are getting green energy.

3 kWh a day during 8 months equals 730 kWh. In money terms, this is about £ 80 in electricity, or £ 28 in gas. Pretty good return for a gimmick if you ask me!

We're on oil, no mains gas, only just got mains sewerage, overhead cables, we need to reduce our oil bill as much as we can, - We already turn the oil off and run the immersion from May - October as that was already the cheapest.

An air source heat pump would be cheapest, problem is small bore radiators (I'll solve that eventually when I have the time to think about it..) .... Thread takes off in new direction. I have one client using 50kWp jwhose primary purpose is to run massive twin air source heat pumps just to heat his swimming pools (oh and a big dose of FIT keeps him happy!!)

We are about to install and test a brand new system over the next couple of weeks (pricing is excellent ..) got an NDA in place though but will post the results without naming them ..yet ..
