Quick q please. I'm not seeing anything in OSG or BBB about hard and fast requirements of spacing around consumer unit. Am I missing anything?
I have a potentially cosy one with 5 cm either side, meter one one side, wall on other. Plenty of space above and below. This wouldn't prevent maintenance to anything. There is space to left of meter if a different meter was ever required.
Not currently seeing a reason to hold back but thought I'd double check. Thanks.

As long as a gas pipe is not near and you can get to all the CU for maintenance then I see no problem.
After all you can encase an old plastic CU in a metal enclosure, for the prevention of fire spreading....
