Do you guys have a prefered spotlight. I need to put some spolights in a bedroom and I wondered if there was a make which is good value and god quality. the room size is 8ft x 9ft and I was going to 9 spotlights in it but dont know if 6 would be better.


not sure is there a rule of foot when it comes tot hese things

I tend to find Screwfix good for spotlights. I always fit fire rated ones though.

go for 9. use LED. look for a min' of 300 lumens per lamp.

JC fire rated are decent price good quality make. Pay about £8 each

I use robus fire rated from edmundsons, they are offer at £5 a fitting at the min and the connections are pretty big as well so nice and easy to connect

they wanted these but they dont look like led's to me although the GU10 might mean there compatible. All the ones mentioned above are they led ones, if not any recomendations and how much i can expect to pay please.

I think these are mains fed or something, good idea?

GU10 (the fitting of the lamp holder) is mains supplied. LEDs fit straight in.

I have fitted plenty of Robus GU10 fire rated in the past, so feel qualified to say that they are absolute garbage. Thin flimsy guards over the connections snap off half the time leaving you with an unusable fitting. The connection box is tiny, as are the connections themselves, don't even think about using 1.5mm cable.

Go for JCC GU10. Good quality but also cheap. I get them for £5.50.
Ansell iCage are also a good fitting.

Aurora fire rated. very nice fittngs IMO. Fitted thousands of them. never had one back.

+1 or even aurora's I9 LED fittings

i dont bother fitting halogen down lights anymore, the price difference doesn't warrant it.

Ive just looked at some Aurora fire rated ones and they look very nice are they mains fed
