My mistake, that is showing you how to secure the cable in the cable grip

Gigsy can you stick to one thread please it just causes confusion
Decide which one you want and the other one can get deleted

?

They are two threads, two different topics. One about ring final spurs and one about J803 junction boxes. I don't mind if you delete both threads, Everyone has been most helpful and have answered my questions. Thank you everyone :)

They are push fit connectors with cable grips, so evidently yes they are in a suitable maintenance free box!!

Have you never heard of a J803?
Yes I have, but you didn't mention that on your 1st post if I recall corectly

The other one is Gone. You say they are 2 different threads but this one was enough, you started talking about h803's then started another thread about the same thing which then had members answering the same questions over 2 threads.

I assume that you are adding 3 extra sockets to the circuit, why don't you install them on the ring.Even how well installed I would try to avoid using j.b's even MF ones under floors.

Thank you, I managed to wire a ring by pulling through some cables, it was hard but I did it in the end, Ended up with just one spu, had to use a junction box cos could not pull the cable through

What a preposterous comment to make!
If you need to ask then I'd (respectfully) suggest you shouldn't be doing electrical work. The suggestion that an EIC or MWIC is dictated by Building Regs is wrong. The two are separate entities. If you do an alteration, addition or new installation you complete the appropriate certificate. Building notification is a separate issue.

You don't have a clue m8, I am talking about the law. If you alter or add to a circuit there is no stipulation in law that you have to test the circuit, end of!

You're the cable chased across the ceiling bod.

@Gigsy Can you please give the trusted members a bit of respect please , they have earned it by helping people like you in the past. It doesn't sit well when you join a forum to ask for help from people with more knowledge than you and then choose not to accept it. You have already been given a warning point in this thread by a member of staff, which isn't great considering you only joined 12 days ago.
Just food for thought!!

What Law are you talking of Gigsy?

He can't answer you Pete, he's just been banned.

An example of the long term race to the bottom of quality of work in our industry, IMHO.
