I would say if it's on a 32a fuse go for it just protect your cable to spur don't think switched spur terminals are rated any higher before they melt.

It's the fact that you would need to get a 3rd 10mm2 cable in to the pull cord and then terminate that in a patress with the 10mm connected to the supply side of a FCU!, good luck with that!!

I don't thin that's the issue as you could back fuse up to 3m, so if it's going to a 13a fcu. Then it could be 2.5.

I just don't see that it complies, an there must be a better way. I wouldn't do it myself.

It was a joke!, common sense says that you shouldn't!, how is any spark in future going to know that a light or similar is on the shower circuit!!, potential for a dangerous situation!!

What's wrong with a 4x4x2 adaptable box & 80a line taps then refeed shower switch and fused new spur!!!!
its better than a 2.5 coming out the shower pull Sw which he could of done without coming on here

Or he could just find a Rfc or radial. Lol
Yes true but Im talking on how I read the question nothing else there other than shower feed, what I suggest is safe and does comply he could put detailed info at CU for the next spark who walks through the door.

Ive seen in past a cooker and a shower and a 1mm all on a 6/10 mm unprotected

I do agree that it will be a safe installation mate.

But I don't see how it complies with the designated cct for items using 2kw or more under 17th.

What's that reg I will have a look,
but I think the reg to this guy wont be acknowledged rather than stickin to reg and trunking up his wall by spuring of a ring circuit

Appendix 15 is where I seen it. Although tbh I don't think it is valid in this circumstance now.....
Although manufacturers specify a independent cct.

The rcd spur being fitted is probably because there wasn't rcd protection of that supply.

Depends how it is connected, which is of course a practical issue, the terminals are usually designed for 6/10mm cable so if you can ensure the...
