Actually the area is very relevant to the original question, and is also mentioned in the Regs, as the overiding indicator of whether a radial protected by a 20A cpd, or a radial with 30/32A cpd, or a ring final circuit should be installed. Once the 'type' of circuit has been decided, then all the other design criteria can be determined.
I think maybe the original text of the question got lost in amongst the banter and beer talk? Still,it was a Saturday night and boys will be boys.
