Im I missing something ?

been checking 2 x ring finals yesterday and found the following results :-

R1 Rn R2 R1+R2

0.36 0.36 0.45 0.18 for length of est circuit r1&rn values seem about right

0.47 0.47 1.38 0.35 cant check length with this but most be loose cpc somewhere

I thought well ill check for loose connection on both and found nothing, well I checked all accessible one/what I could find

anyone else got thoughts on this please there is only loose damaged connection

You're 95% correct. I always have an issue with the term loose connection. It's poor connection to me.

It doesn't necessarily mean theres a 'loose connection' anywhere - as you've pointed out you can't find it. You could literally open every single socket and find everything tight.

It could mean that the insulation of the cable is nicked instead of the copper at one of the connections somewhere on the ring.

It could also mean theres a socket that you haven't found that has a 'loose connection' or even a damaged cable end thats just about hanging on in there at the terminal.

But yes you're correct, it's a 'loose connection' as you put it somewhere.
