This is the first time I have ever seen straw in a stud wall. House was built in 1990.

Some houses on one of the estates round here have straw pre-fab stud walls. They came complete with channels for wiring, if you need a channel and can locate it, you can easily push a cable rod up/down.

I live in such a house, built 1987.
All internal dividing walls upstairs and down are Strawboard.
As said above there are plenty of built in channels, every 300mm across if it's like mine.
Expect a supermarket bag full of straw when you cut out for 1 double socket box, it's very dense.

It does have good enough insulation qualities,and is treated with a flame retardant,unless a farmer has done some building work...

I cannot remember for the life of me,what the old trade name was,for such a product...it was used extensively from the sixties onwards,for schools and garage roofs etc...Stranset or similar...kept dry,it is probably a better,more durable product,than the minimum standard cavity bats,LA allow...:artist:

Just been crawling in the Loft, Mine is Strawmit Easiwall.

There are 2 internal conduits side by side 35mm apart, then the centres of those pairs are 300mm

Its come back into use;

An example of the long term race to the bottom of quality of work in our industry, IMHO.
