Struggling with City and Guilds Electrotechnical Certificate 2330 Level 2

I am starting to struggle with keeping up with the Jobs. And I'm scared I will not finish them and fail the course. I feel comfortable with the theory but a little nervous about the practical side at the moment and I'm actually loosing sleep over this.

Any tips for me? :(

Thanks.

I am currently doing an Electrical Installation course at college. I have been struggling with the practical side of the course. I have decided to practice at home, I've got a workshop at the back of my house. I just want to practice 2 way switches and stuff like that, I also want to practice bending the PVC around corners for the 2 loops when doin a 2 way and intermediate switch at college, I am especially struggling with this, the course tutor has told us to try bending it around a ceiling rose, this doesn't work for me though, I'm not the only one. What kind of consumer unit would I need to practice 2 way and intermediate at home, i.e. 40A, 80A OR 100A. Any advice would be much appreciated as I want to get cracking at home this weekend. Thanks a lot

Since you are doing it "dead" it doesn't matter whether you have a CU or not. You test your work not by switching it on and seeing if it works but by doing continuity tests with a resistance meter. I would bend plastic conduit, with a spring inside, across my knee. Keep a piece of string on the spring so that you can pull it out again;)

edit ; just checked my link to a bit of kit on ebay (post30) only 2 quid out on my guess - how cool is that lol!
