So I completed my 2330 Level 2 & Level 3 now and have been waiting to do the AM2.. Unfortunately due to being unemployed (redundant) for longer than 6 months, the college have said that they can no longer fund me to do my AM2 exam. I haven't been successful in finding another job, sent out loads of CV's etc to local Domestic companys (as this is what I have only done in past) but heard nothing. Now my question is can I go self employed without doing my AM2 exam? Its extremely confusing and i dont no what to do! Dont really want to give up on being a Spark but lack of money could be forcing me to look into other jobs.

Regards
Ben

hi there

some years ago i found my self in the same position and could not get funded and gave up am2.

This did not stop me becoming a jib approved sparkie eventually look at the electrotechnical scheme rules you can be industry assessed without am2 so it iis not the end of the world mate.:)
