Any one ever had the supernova apart mine blew its plug fuse repeatedly so I took it apart under the key pad housing there was a sheet of metal sticky paper with a copper bit glued onto it and a bit of wire soledered to that, all this is definatly home made because the screw fixing holes were cut out with scissors and I can see pen marks around the outer edge where its been cut out, any one know what this is for and is it a home made version of what should be in there and what would it do any way oh the wire it was scerwed onto the key pad gubbins

You will find that it is a security tag meaning that if you have had it apart the calibration for the tester is now void.

No not that this is inside the tester itself when the keyboard is removed

Sounds like a crude attempt at screening the keyboard.

I once took apart an amstrad stereo, the internal arial was a bit of dexion with some cable wrapped round it going to a board.

Amstrad back in the 70,s it was the best value for money around not brilliant but with a pair of seconhand wharfes it was as goodf as I could afford

Not sure what it is, but can assure you it is original manufacturer spec. Can't say they all have it, but I've seen several with the 'fix' inside.
Don't tell Seaward if the kit is still under warranty!
