Can I ask a question.

We have had a new bathroom fitted and when they fitted it they removed all bonding from the bathroom including the 10mm to the shower.
When I asked about this the said it was not needed as protected by rcd.

There's a bit more to it than just fitting an RCD!

It is true that the requirement for supplementary bonding is less now than it was, but you can't just ignore it.
You should be testing all exposed pipework to establish whether bonding is or is not required. If the pipework is already connected to the installation earth (bonded elsewhere) it is ok and if it's resistance to earth is above a certain value it is also ok. Anything else needs bonding.
In all cases an RCD is still required.

Sorry no offence intended.
I was just thinking that even if the pipe work did not require bonding at the time a small change like adding a small piece of plastic pipe down the line could change this.

Thank you.
I used to work in the industry, completed 1st year and have only just rediscovered my interest.

I would like to get back into it but not keen on paying 5K for a course that offers no experience.
