Does supplementary bonding on a boiler have to be a continuous piece of cable or can you cut it & use yellow crimped terminals? Yes it is eega and by NICEIC requirements...
cheers all...

it does not have to be continuous. question is whether it needs to be done anyway.

obviously they are a prime example of a little knowledge being dangerous. " if it's metal, bond it ". back to 1980's and the 15th edition.

think IQ and a few other members who are a bit more theoretical than me could explain it better. by bonding at the boiler, you could be introducing an earth potential where it could increase the danger of electric shock. the theory's in me head, but i struggle to translate it into words at times.

Had a massive argument with NIC technical over zone bonding and introducing a fault current to bathroom / shower rooms, though might have been 16th

As it's unlikely to be a requirement of the BRB unless in a special location you can do it in wet string if you want to.

Who or what is/are eega?
Not this lot presumably:
East European Gas Analysis

Is this an oil or gas boiler.
If oil it will need 'cross bonding'. If gas it will not.

4mm will be okay. Just put your clamps on the pipes and go from clamp to clamp with cut lengths. No need for it to be continuous across all clamps.
