supplementary bonding

I have installed a new tap in my bathroom and have used a plastic connector, can I link the pipes across the connector?

no reason not to. depends if it's necessary or not though.

can I use the old clamp to join or would it be better to use 2 new clamps and not disturb the original?

not sure what the situation is. if the existing pipes are still bonded and it's just the new tap you're concerned about, if that is connected with plastic, don't do anything.

If it requires supp bonding the put the link in like you say.

Was at a job yesterday where there was a plastic tee on the water supply. Just thought i'd check to see if there was continuity either side of the tee and it only showed as 0.02 ohm.

So much for plastic push fit totally breaking continuity

Was there water in the pipe when you tested it? if so the continuity would have been through the water.

That must be pretty highly conductive water in that part of the world!!...lol!!!

Never thought mains water was that conductive either.
