Too damn right it has. If you read their media thing on the event, the 'audience' at the Faraday Theatre will comprise of architects, business consultants, members of the IET & JPEL 64 and its sub-committees. They won't be paying £74+vat, they won't paying the £5 entry fee that the electricians etc will have to pay to sit in some cinema.

Nope, my fees (et at al) will paying for this event, just so NICEIC can put a feather their caps.

The head of Electrical in the local college had said they offered an update course before which was 30 instead of 60 questions, but wasn’t sure about much else.

It would be for those with 17th Amd 3 regs qualification only.
They only offer it at the start of an update due to being able to fill the numbers.

When I did my 17th, there was a short exam or a long exam (can’t remember now the times for each).
The short exam was for people who had taken the 16th update exam, the long for those who hadn’t.
I ended up taking the long exam, because that was what had been booked for the other examinees when I sat the exam.
They were quite surprised when I finished a lot sooner than them, some thought I had messed up and clicked the wrong button, ending the exam early.

Just turned it sideways.
To be honest, passing the update exams is not hard, being a member of this forum helps, as I get to see quite a few Regs during discussions, which I would not normally look at in the normal course of my work.
