Is it a sound mechanical connection providing continuity?

Also is the plate the SWA is glanded into part of the body of the DB or is it a screw on plate? If a screw on plate is there a sound mechanical connection providing continuity?

looks to me like a screwed on gland plate. think I spotted a machine screw at the back.

What worries me about the use of self-drilling screws as that they shed swarf (as shown in the picture provided).

I would be terrified that some of this could end up in locations where it could cause a breaker to fail to operate in an emergency.

I would personally ban those self drilling screws they are indicative of unskilled persons.

I was about to post the similar concerns but the quotes would not load up.

i see your point, but drilling holes for nuts and bolts also sheds swarf. if in an existing , working DB, this coulsd cause the same problem. different if drilling is done (and cleaned out) before MCBs etc.are installed.

Agreed.... up to a point.

Swarf is an issue wherever / whenever it is created, but it is much easier to manage if drilling the holes in the traditional manner where the inevitable creation of swarf is uppermost in one's mind.

Self-drilling screws, IMV, create swarf "silently" in the sense that the person driving the screws is often blissfully unaware of the swarf.

I agree with you , but that just looks dog rough.
Altered that lol , I need my eyes tested.

I couldn't help myself I would have to blind those sharp ends, even if I had to make it rougher with a bit of sleeving lol. :)

it's OK though, it's a proteus DB. can't make it any worse.

Has anyone else noticed that it’s The most likely board type to contain shoddy workmanship by the installer and non matched breakers?
Or have I just been unlucky?

You would treat it as a TT installation.

All the lamp post cutouts I've ever seen have a twin swa gland plate built in to the base.
