Discuss Swa in plastic board? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

We got pulled up by the niceic regarding the creeping issue of swa in plastic enclosures now have to use earth nuts or locknut banjo locknut

Think your NICEIC assessor is been a jobsworth, I can agree with creep, it is a real issue and is just as common on metal and even with your terminals on your switchgear, mcbs etc.... we were taught to always return within a day or two and nip any terminals up as copper (especially stranded) settles and can create a loose joint over time if not nipped up, although the higher ampage range of some branded gear has a design to avoid said loosening with creep.

PS I have had 3 written apologies in my time:-

2 from Niceic blokes and one from a Clerk of Electrical Works.... they are pen pushers and only human and subject to the same mis-interpretations as you or I .... but I always ensure I state my case if I see fault in there opinions.
