swearing lately

Has the rule about swearing changed on the forum?? I have noticed a lot of swearing recently. Ok maybe one or 2 letters * but it does not take a genius to work out what is trying to be spelt out.

err...not sure.

But ive tried to stop swaring in real life.

ive been working around people who sware with every 3rd word they utter (if you can hear them over the blare of radio 1 or their not engrossed in reading The Sun).

Im trying not to sware anymore, its not attractive.

A sware word can be very funny, occasionaly, if its popped into a sentence at the right time.

Mostly there is no need for swaring.

I have no problem with swearing at the right time and the right place but I thought it was a rule of the forum that there should be no swearing in the open forum. And I agree with this rule, it seems to be an ignored rule at the moment.

I think there is a thead here somewhere warning that swaring is not acceptable on this forum. Quite rightly so too. This is an open forum....kids could be reading what we type.

Your too ------ right sir :o

Amazing that a couple of dots can make the reader swear
Its the context thats offensive, not the word, allthough I rarely use "filthy language" as my mam called it :)

no still the same rules as before. the words wit the first letter with a space after it and the rest of the words is the same thing as is the first letter followed by a couple of stars then the last letters. its not about censorship as there is as hawk said a right time and a right place. it makes me wonder if some would go into a vicars house and tell him his boards is im sure you know which word could be put in for "no good" or would we tell him its not really acceptable? similarly i would not want a trades man effing in front of my old nan when she was alive.

just before any of you think im some cleaner than clean guy that does not swear that could not be further from the truth. its easy not to type it really and to be honest when im reading a post by someone and they have substituted a rude one for one that sounds stupid but has the effect it cracks me up :)

This is where the mods need the help of the responsible forum members like yourself.

It would be near on immpossible for us to read every post on here so if any member sees a post with blatent swearing in it hit the report button.

This helps us deal with it very quickly rather than waiting for one of us to stumble across it and keeps this forum better for all to enjoy.

I agree with sintra here, realy there is no need for swearing , i swear like a good un on site , but never infront of a customer , and i know its an "Electricians forum" but you never know who is out there potential employers or customers you never know

my experince lately is this.......

Ive been surrounded by people who sware alot. For some crazy reason ive started to join in with their swaring antics.

Then...I dropped the "F" word into a conversation around people who were not used to that sort of langauge.

Im determined not to do that again.

There is no reason to sware.

I've always thought that if it wasn't for the "F" word, some folk wouldn't have very much to say.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a sign of a bankrupt vocabulary.
