Hi and thanks in advance.
I have been called to a job to look at a faulty starter for a swimming pool.
The starter apparently has never worked and swimming company has agreed to pay for it to be fixed ( there electrician has had 2 goes already).
The starter is supposed to be wired so that if there is a power cut the pump automatically restarts, also it is controlled by a 240v timer which also turns on 2 uv lights.
The starter at the moment never turns off by the timer and the reason for this I noticed straight away is that starter is a 415coil being controlled by a 240v timer.
The main trouble I've got is does anybody know if there is a starter with 240v coil and n/c contractor so after power cut it automatically restarts. Existing starter is Schneider LM35P714.Thanks again.

To avoid the relay, can you swap the starter contactor coil for a 240V one? They are often available separately and interchangeable. Or if not the coil, swap the contactor.

Heads-up re. the relay if you do use one to control the 400V coil : Traditional octal relays are not rated to switch 400V, typically they have a maximum rating of 250V, a few go to 300V. There are plenty of DIN-rail mount relays that will do the job but I do not think the one linked above is suitable unless it states otherwise.

I did offer to talk to you yesterday evening, left you my phone number, but no response, all in response to your original question, I guess you have your answer now and are no longer interested, so I will no longer be be part of this post, however good luck.

Will this work?

Don't want to sound negative but if you are asking will this work then maybe this is beyond your know how. As Rob says get someone else involved so you can see how it all works.

Sorry for trying to improve my knowledge of starters...
It's amazing how in life some people try to help and some just like to put down.
I have worked with many electricians over the years and I haven't found one who knows everything. Some have had a sound knowledge and some have had excellent workmanship.
The little knowledge I have gained over the past 20 years I have enjoyed sharing and have never put down other electricians to make myself feel better.
All I wanted was a little advice........
RANT OVER..

To be fair you've had some good advice on this thread. But if a client is paying for the work to be done then they will expect someone who is comfortable doing it. Nothing wrong with knowing your limits. I don't mind admitting that I don't know the answer.
